Monster Cross
« on: September 30, 2008, 04:01:43 PM »

Got the new fork on, fat tires fit and it rides AWESOME  brain damage!

"Stock" with 700 x 32 WTB Cross Wolfs - this is now the spare wheel set
(XT hubs, Salsa Delgado rims).

Love the stem...

Monster-ized with Winwood 26er MTB fork, black XT/WTB Trail 29er wheel
set, Avid CS2 rotors, IRD 12-28 cassette - all to fit the Bontrager XDX
29 x 1.75 tires.

Yeah a bit of toe overlap...oh well, more leaning less turning...

Meaty 'Tragers

All in all fun in the sun - gonna take it up Railroad this weekend - it
might even rain!

I guess it depends on what you compare them too.  The stock forks didn't so much "chatter" as "vibrate rapidly 2-6 inches fore and aft under braking".  Stiff MTB forks on a cross bike...yummers.

Oh and I'll take carbon over these forks too :D even though they are purty.
