...would you like some Salsa?
« on: September 25, 2008, 04:44:34 PM »

Sold a few bikes (the Taylor SS and Breezer Ignaz), funds allowed for this to be my new office bike - perfect for laps around the marsh near my office.  Looks good out front of Noahs Bagels at lunch time too.

I tried to stuff some 'trager XDX 29 x 1.75 tires on ...juust fit in BACK but too tall in front.  That will be resolved when the Winwood Purist 26" carbon fork finally arrives, at which point the spare wheels (black XT hubs, black DT spokes, black WTB laserdisc trail 29er rims, IRD 12-28 casette, CS2 rotors) will meet those "monstercross" tires and I will try it on Tam.

Cranks are 130bcd...which kinda sucks ring wise so anyone have a compact crankset they can offer up?

looks sweet- angles pretty relaxed? is it one of those bikes that gets more stable the faster you go? i don't have any compact cranks for you, but i can propose the obvious solution: go faster. are those the avid mechanicals? i have those on my jumper and i love'em. do the sti's pull enough cable?

head is 72, seat is 72.5 - feels fairly toit to me but still getting used to being so far forward on a bike.  The Winwood will bring the front up another 20mm...plus taller tires...so slightly slacker but that I can deal with by adding speed.

Yep BB7 "road" brakes, they are pretty much rock solid and there is plenty of lever travel left once the skinny tires lockup :-D
