obd-2 into a mk1 (mk1 elec to CE2).....
« on: September 05, 2008, 02:58:37 PM »

i have finly goten all the aprts for my swap.

97 jetta GL 2.0 motor and EFI.

i pulled all teh wires from teh fuse box forward from teh jetta, also pulled the fuse box it self, and also cut every plug about 4" back from the fuse box that was not part of the motor harnus.

now, tell me if im crazy here............

im thinking of taking my rabbit chassi harnus, labeling each wire at teh fuse box adn removign them form the rabbit fuse box. then taking the mk3 fuse box (CE2)  and soldering the rabbit cassi harnus iwers into teh proper (CE2) plug. this way i end up basicly with a CE2 equiped rabbit with out avhing to rewire the whoe car end to end.

i got the cluster harnus also, so if im lucky enough to find a 2.0 cluster it should in thery "just plug in and work"

anyhon around here ever done this kidn of swap?

if this were to work i could do any ce2 motor swap id like down the road and have it basicly be "plug in and play"........

sounds easy enough, ........ but is it?....
