g2/g62 engine coolant temperature sensor queston
« on: January 15, 2008, 09:21:52 PM »

ok, so here is what im doing,......... i am taking my 2000 audi TT with a ATC code motor and installing a 2001 AMU code motor engine coolant temperature (ect) sensor.

here is the probelm. reading my bently........ iv got.....

ATC - 1=brown/blue 2=brown/white 3=blue 4=violet

AMU - 1=violet 2=brown/white 3=grey/yellow 4=brown/blue

wtf?........ these are totaly diffrent. i could for the most part make shit work i think by simply putting the properly colored wire into the spot the bently says other than the issue of having a blue wiire and not a grey/yellow.

my TT bently is on cd and its a real pain to track wires back to there source so its not realy making any sence as to wtf i should do. id like to not cause my car to go kaboomb cuz i hook something up wrongly.

anyone ever done this swap?....... or have some real tech info as to what i should do?

thanks!

(oh im doing this as i am runing the 2001 ECU in my 2000 car, and its having issues with runing pig rich at start up and under load, so im thinking that puting in the proper sensor could help fix this shit from becoming a real pain in my ass for much longer, who nows maybe its a big waste of time?.....)

p.s. could i fuck up anything if i simpy hooked it up and tried it in a few diffrent ways?
