you guys got anyone thats done it, or know any good setups... i'm all about a retarded cam and solid lifter.  i appreciate any help.

I'm not sure what's available now, but the hot ticket before use to be swapping to shim under bucket.  Use gutted hydro lifters with machined inserts and Alfa or motorcycle shims.

i want to run a 288 or bigger... and i dont think hydrocams will handle that.
