drove around tryin to find a place to fill up the gas tank just in case we have to leave during the night.  really wierd drivin around. most of esco near my place is deserted. most of the stores are closed. trees, streetsigns, railroad crossing bars, etc. are knocked down all over the place from the wind. and the smoke and ash are so bad its like driving around in a foggy snowstorm. 

it's calmed down pretty good near my place the last couple hours. smoke even drifted in a different direction, so it's not too smoky now. i think we're pretty much in the clear at our place.

sounds like fallbrook is getting it bad right now though. that and the fire down here is circling around esco and heading up towards valley center......so hans might be in for a long night.  :pissedblu2:

My family is ok and out.  We evac'd earlier this evening around 4 pm.  It was a bitch to get out of town though as everyone was diverted towards Camp Pendleton.  My Mom left earlier and took the 15 north, but it was closed when we left so my brother and I took De Luz out into Temecula and my Dad reserved my Mom, brother and myself a hotel in Lake Elsinore. 

Thanks for all the calls from everyone.  Glad to hear everyones concern.  Sorry if I was kind of short with people, I was trying to get off the phone and keep the cell lines clear as FF's are using them do to the radios being clogged up with all the traffic.

Seriously though.  I believe our house is relatively safe.  The direction the wind was going and the amount of and type of terrain between us gives me hope that the fire will not make it to our house.  Please keep us in your thoughts though as the next 24 hours are going to suck for alot of people in San Diego as we currently have 8 large incidents going on around the county.

well some good news for andy and nicole........ as of 11 am today the area of the golf course (andy lives virtually on the gold course)was in good shape and was being used as a staging point for the fire fighters, and the pro shop and the resort (nicoles work) was being used as a place to feed the fire fighters. But the fire is maybe a mile or two away at most.
