I get the impression that DCI is a front for a handful of elitests with moderately nice cars who surround themselves with people who cant think for themselves, who need to be part of something to feel better about themselves. Its a viscious cycle. -big bentley on vortex

Vagcom interface locale?
« on: September 12, 2007, 04:15:57 PM »

Hoping to get the answer here and not deal with the 'tex. Anyone know the exact location of the MKIV diagnostic/VAGcom lead/interface?

Dunno why I didn't think of asking you directly. '02 1.8t idles rough, low on power and the CEL flashes. I needed to find the scan port so I could borrow Hunde's VAGcom.

Found a MAF low signal code, rear lamba sensor sweep/adjust, misfires in all four cylinders and something about an air canister leak. What do you think? Coil packs? MAF? O2 Sensor? plugs?

I'm going to clean the MAF, install new plugs and clear the codes for now.

Sounds like the MAF to me.  If I remember correctly, the 2.0l MAF is the same but the housing is different, and it's a lot cheaper.  You can put the sensor into your housing.

using my vag-com is how i meet the stirpper dentist..... just saying...

the 2.0 maf sensro is the same as a 1.8t, i run them all the time. its uber easy to swap the sensro from housing to houseing!.... id do it for sure on my stg3+ car even!
