Got this bad boy today

Bianchi Volpe - 2006

I got it off craigslist.  It came with the rear rack, an additional brake setup on top, and a dampener seat.  The dude had barely ridden it, as soon as he bought it he moved from the SE (where he works) to Cedar Hills.

750 bones; holler (the 2008's are 950 I think)

Took it out as soon as I got home and I loved every minute of it, going up the steep hill off of Barbur Blvd was fucking cake...mind you, compare this to my specialized rockhopper with fatty tires that I have been riding.

Oh nelly I love it.

Nice.  I always liked those for a good urban bike.  Sold many of them back in the day to people who needed a bike for transportation, not for flossin' on a roof rack at the trail head parking lot.

The seat dampner fucking rocks, I'm telling ya...its straight up goodness.  I'd ridden the 2008 around SE and it was nice, but then I rode this downtown and it was smoother than I'd hoped for.  I gotta start actually watching for sinkholes now though, I used to just ride through or over them with the rockhopper. heh

I too have been eyeing cross bikes...that's a nice setup and the price was right!

I was wanting to get a true road bike but after realizing the cost vs what I could or couldn't do, it just seemed better to go with the cyclocross style.  Now I don't have to pay TOO much attention when I'm riding around.

Got pics of yours weav?

hi, sorry, yeah i do.  allthough it's not looking very crossish at the moment.  it does errands and picks up beer and random shit in this little town of mine.  allthough if i got a plan for a weekend involving the bike, i got another rear wheel i throw on with a cassete to make it a 1x9, throw on some different pedals, take off the basket, and run some flat bars with profile stubbies.  sounds like a pita but really its only like a 5 minute procedure.  it's a planet x frame and its been surprisingly stout, even took it on a couple doubles the other day at the local bmx park (removed grocerys from basket first).  i'll prolly turn it back to trail duty full time in the near future and mulling over the idea of an as light as possible 29er air fork for it.  we will see.  or perhaps just keep it as is and build a true 29er mt bike.  i'm never content with bikes :l
