Hey guy's, new here, Sammy has been trying to get me to sign up, but I haven't had the pictures or time for like what seems a week or so.  So here's whats up, I didn't feel as though "Hi i'm new would suffice"(so the last 10 years of dubbin for me)...  Read, scroll through the pictures, do as you please, but this is going to be kind of long.

My first personal vw was a 1995 Jetta GLS, this was in 1998.  Lowered on neuspeed springs and some aftermarket shocks, the brand slips my mind.  Not too much done to it, intake, exhaust, chip.  I guess that was big stuff back in 98, who knows now.  As I was driving down tustin avenue an illegal mexican without a license and no insurance (fact not a racial slur) decided to roll out and total the Jetta out.  Mostly I just have film pictures, but here is what she looked like when all was said and done.

So I picked up an 85 GTi to get around on until I dealt with insurance/picked up another car.  She's not much to look at but she drives great.  Stripped her down to be fun and sort of a "beater" would love to rebuild her some day, just don't know when that is going to happen.  Have a block that needs fixed and an Abt crank to go in her, but its just more time and money, something that I don't have enough of :)

I think  I picked up my 95 GTi VR6 in 2001 or 2002, not too positive.  Drove it stock for a bit and then started modding it.  I went from the MK4 look headlights to a cabrio front clip.  Then coilovers and Porsche 928 wheels.  The 928's were replaced with BBS RS's, but ran around on the 95 Long Beach wheels for here and there.  I acquired some BBS RF's for a bit, but didn't like the look of 17's with that bad of an offset on my MK3 so I sold those and ran the RS's again.   As cleaning and everything was bothering me and the daily grind taking a toll on the RS's, i removed them and replaced them with BBS RXII's wrapped in Falken Azenis 615's.  Onto some pictures and the motor stuff.

I took her up north for a bit when the girl went to San Jose, needless to say I flew from then on, haha

She started as a 2.8L VR, OBDI, VR spec, BONE STOCK.  After she developed a rod knock the engine was bored .1L over with 83mm JE Pistons and a rebuilt head that was cleaned up a bit.  MKIV MLS Headgasket would be the undoing of this engine.  But until we get there, it had CAT 268 cams with a polished mani (to be replaced with a polished and cut Schrick VGI) coupled with a Turn 2 CAI (almost on the ground).  It put out decent power but then one day I was driving along and all sorts of bad noises came from the motor.  Dropped a valve and hte piston shoved it back into the motor.  I was about done with the car, ready to part it out when my buddy Corey came through with a motor he was supposed to buy from Tom, I bought it off Tom/Corey and put a 98 head/block into my 95 with all the 95 electronics.  WOrked pretty good.  Pics from both motor rebuilds.  We had a little rebuild inbetween because the gaps were not the correct gaps that JE had on their pamplet for VR6's, I was burning a quart of oil every 500 miles.

The tranny was rebuild by Dave Foltz with a VW 3.94:1 R&P, Gary Peloquin's LSD, along with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears and all the syncro's replaced.  It has a .75 TDI 5th gear to retain the overdrive on the freeway with a stock Sachs clutch.  At one point it has a lightened flywheel (it's still sitting on the other motor).

In the second time...

During the first motor remove we were using a tranny hoist over the two fenders, as we tried to "swing" the motor forward it knocked out the hoodprop out and dropped the hood on my pops and me, leaving us with some pretty nice cuts.  His on the top of his head

Stayed stock until I found a Z-Engineering Charger for a decent price.  Made decent power, but took forever to fully spool, so I went turbo.  The kinetics proved to be good, so I ordered that, sold the supercharger and made some custom pieces to fit the Schrick Manifold (for now).  Something was off, not making power, running lean.  Just pissed me off, so I ran  4 bar FPR and put a 3" downpipe and straight through exhaust on.  Still not pulling what it should, but it felt alot better than it was.  Although it was running great it was burning fuel.  Currently at 12-14mpg on a tank, no more than 140 miles to a tank I opted to get a "daily driver" So I picked up a MKV GTi, 2007 4 door Package 0.  It's great, nice to not worry about bumps and everything else, gets much better gas mileage and looks great.  Only 2 things I have done to it so far are tinted windows and a short stubby (sharen sp?) antenna.  I have a set of A8L monoblocks sitting at my parents, but dont know when those will get on.  I didn't really take too many pictures of the turbo, but if your curious I can find some and upload them.

In the middle somewhere I went through 928's to RS's to RF's back to RS's.

My MK3 on the daily wheels

I'm sure i'm leaving out alot of pictures for over 10 years, but I just selected a few.

Just as my father's kinfolk were all sitting down to tea.
We tried to smooth things over, but they all began to fight.
And me, being strictly neutral, I bashed everyone in sight.
