My new toy
« on: July 01, 2007, 11:15:13 AM »

The old lady bitched at me for buying it without consulting her. :D

Bad CV joints, missing e-brake handle, motor mounts are toasted but have a new set from Bahn Brenner sitting in my lap right now, electrical is all fux0rEd (Radiator fan... never stops until the battery is at 10 volts.) and probably will need new steering rack/pump.

I don't care. I've wanted one of these supercharged bitches ever since I first saw one in 91.

 :bounce2:
Edit: Ordered the front turn signals from the friendly neighborhood VW dealership. Anyone have any idea why the driver's side costs twice as much as the passenger side?

Update: Electrical is messed up because of the thieves who stole it from the previous owner. The radiator fan probably would have been less of a draw if there wasn't a huge fitting pressing up against it under the hood. I bet it was drawing an assload of current to keep that fan turning.
On the other hand, the fuel pump after-run... that thing will keep going until the battery is totally dead and it's all because the ambient air pressure sensor is fried.
My real problem now, and I'll have a post in the technical forum about this pleading for ideas, is this:
Look in the picture. See the steelies on the back? HONDA. How the hell do you get those off? The only method I know is to back the lug bolts off and drive it on a washboarded road. I can't do that right now because I have no washboarded road and the car needs a new alternator/starter wire.

That's a broken motor mount eating an alternator wire. The fire was small but beautiful.
