16v swap questions.
« on: June 07, 2007, 06:10:09 PM »

I've pretty much hit a wall or the side walls of the engine bay rather.

I ran out of light tonight as its out on the driveway to give me more room to manuever. Tomorrow I'm going take the alternator & A/C off the engine which I think should give me room & clearance to move the engine forward.

But...
Do I have to take the trans off the engine?
Should I take the intake manifold off?

Remember kiddies, I don't have power tools so that would suck trying to do it analog 'n shit.

One day my Ma's relations came round to visit me.
Just as my father's kinfolk were all sitting down to tea.
We tried to smooth things over, but they all began to fight.
And me, being strictly neutral, I bashed everyone in sight.

if you can put it in from the bottom. fits in easier and you don't have to remove the trans.

True. I may consider that option but I'm going to take a crack at taking the trans off tonight. Makes it easier to get rid of parts anyways.

I've done from the top with the trans on, but never accessories/manifolds.

Seems to be the way to go. I guess at 9:30 at night, you get cocky (or drunk?) and think its going to work.
