I love garage sales
« on: May 19, 2007, 09:11:18 AM »

Got up early today to drive Syd to school... stopped at a park nearby to let Frankie run around a sec... as I was leaving saw a garage sale and stopped (although I am really broke) and saw the wheel set in a corner with a healthy coat of dust.. :joel:

No cracks, nothing.... just one flat tube :)

They are 700 clinchers so I think that I will keep the front for the track bike and maybe parlay the other to Tony or someone that races/rides gears.... have not decided.

I got a midget sized 80's ten speed bike for $5.00 at a garage sale once. Not that it matches up to what you found but similar.

Congrats on the find.

i have a tubular set of those i use for crits ant tt's sometimes- the front one will be my temporary track wheel while i wait for spokes to replace my trashed box rims. some people think they are death traps but i've ridden the shit out of them with no trouble. unlike most wheels that give you some warning before they go, these babies are the silent killer. whatever- i like'em. once you get them up to speed they haul ass and sound cool. is that ziptied thing on the rear one a spare freehub body or a threaded conversion jobber for running a track cog?

I tried that, it wont work on the later model spinergys. I run a spinergy front and a deep-v formula rear.
