The a4 came with a spec PP and stock disk.........

I started driving it in June, swapped out for a SouthBend clutch kit in August........  The southbend is a stiff but reasonable PP with a disk that doesn't grab.... You can see the difference in PP thickness above from the amount of "spring" (look at the gap between the two parts of the PP and the angle of the fingers).

I woulda gone CN through Tom,  but (at the time??) they didn't make a kit for my car.

when i worked at bbm, we had about a 50% failure rate with spec.

sent one over to ireland for a guy who had a dealership install everything that he had purchased new (transmission included in that whole setup)...had the clutch blow completely apart on him in like, 3 days. he was pissed....called me up, bitched. i then called spec, they said no warranty on it; i sent them pictures, they still said no warranty. i had the guy send me the clutch back, i then sent it to spec w/ copies of our emails and the customers receipts showing everything to be purchased new and installed at a dealership, they then sent me a new one under warranty. fucking pricks. to top it all off, they all talk with a THICK souther accent....if that tells you anything.

Hmm, I'll pass that info on to my mate as he sells them over here.

What are the best clutches for big turbo 1.8T's over there at the moment that are suitable for daily driving in traffic etc??
