so, what insterment cluster should i plan to run in a mk1 w/ mega squirt?./

Whatever one you want. Stock ones or a Mk2 will work triggered right off the coil, Mk3 ones you need to build a tach driver in the MS.

rad... guess i better figure out what fits my mk1 jetta dash best..... maybe a 16v roccor cluster?... dont they ahve the most bells and wisterls?

We used that cluster on Josh VEEX's Mk1 Jetta and it worked nicely.
