I'm assuming that you are talking about the firewall. I don't know if the later models came with them, but my '86 didn't. I did just pick up a pretty cool heat shield off of a mk3 jetta at U-Pull-it the other day. It should fit with a little squishing.

Wow, roller coaster of a day I've had.

I found a great house in vancouver (3 bedroom, 2.5 bath, big attached garage, $900) only 15 mins from work. So I'm down here packing up all of my stuff getting ready to move in on Friday when I get a call from the HR lady at my new job. She informs me that they are delaying my start date for at least 30 days (possibly indefinitely, but they don't know yet) and I'm supposed to hang tight and wait for news. Great. Four days before I'm supposed to start working.

Anyone want to move into a great place close to 205? I may need the help with rent.

God, looking for houses sucks. I've been driving all over NE Portland for the last two days and keep finding shit. Anyone interested in moving into a house? If I could get a good roommate, I'd love to look for a 2 or 3 bedroom house with a garage. These tiny row apartments for 700-800 a month suck.

P.S I mean rent. I don't think I'm going to purchase for a little bit. I need to get settled in a work first.

I haven't found anything for sure yet, but I would like to soon. I'm going to be working at Silver Eagle Manufacturing near the airport. Oregon or Washington, I'm just trying to keep the drive short.

haha, funny guy. What a memory you have Ed. No, Paula isn't moving in. I've held the wedding bells off this long and will for a bit more. You got something?

Sexy all, but have you any photos of front engined cars? I spy a 944 in the background of one...

How big? I'm not sure if I want to jump into buying something quite yet though... I kinda want to look around first for a bit.

It kind of depends on if I get a roommate or not. I'm kind of spoiled down here with $325 rent and one roommate. What does the place next to you run?

Edit: where is it?

Hello all,

I'm finally getting out of this college thing and have a job lined up at a place close to the airport. I'm not really familiar with the housing situation in the area, anyone have any suggestions? Looking to rent for the first year probably.

Thanks,

Drew
10  Car & Tech Talk / A2 Golf/Jetta / Mk2 Golf CAD model? on: February 21, 2008, 03:31:55 PM
Anyone have a reasonably good Solidworks or other 3d cad model of a mk2 golf? I need one for a wind tunnel project here at OSU and I would prefer to not make one myself.

Thanks,
Drew
11  Car & Tech Talk / Bicycles / Re: MTB Hydraulic Brakes... Which ones? on: February 17, 2008, 09:22:59 AM
xtrs? Not familiar. Do the BB7's have the same modulation and feel that a hydraulic setup would? I'm sure there might be a little more work in hydraulics, but I don't mind bleeding them every now and then if that is what it takes.

I have some cable discs on my Giant, but I rode a buddy's bike with hydraulics and it was amazing. I'm not a serious downhill rider, but I loved the smooth modulation that they had. What brands should I be looking at for a good set of intro hydro brakes?

I'm not quite looking for something like this:

Thanks,

No worries mate, your money is good with me. It's just sitting here waiting. Let me know when you get stuff figured out. In the mean time I need this other stuff to sell too.
