1967 Mercury Cougar XR-7   390 motor C6 Auto
First thing I gotta do is get tires on these rims to bring it to my house, then remove the crispy harness and replace.
I know it's not a VW but it's gonna be fun ;)

It was my brothers hood ride when we were in high school. I had an 71 Monte Carlo and a 67 Dodge Polara back then....I wish I still had them. I broke the record for the longest pegleg burnout in front of Madison high with the Dodge Polara.

Hell, this ride has all the badges, all the interior chrome and fancy doodads that I don't need or want....and I love the fact that Cougar enthusiasts are paying top dollar for these things.  A little selling off of chrome will help me get to where I want to go with this one. 

I'll be picking up some tires for her today and getting her to my house tomorrow.

My dad had one, a 68 road runner 383 w/sixpack. I learned to drive stick in that beast, and left a lot of black marks in the FedMart now Target parking lot. Thats another beast I wish was still around.  What year is yours?

Hahah, well, after that pic was taken it sat (is sitting) for six years :(.  I recently completed putting the new motor together for it and have a road runner hood for it (the one that's on it in that pic is a Satellite hood) really just need to get it home to get it worked on - but if I do that - I REALLY won't work on the Rally car :|

She fits well in my small garage.












I did a quick water wash to get the 20+ years of dirt off her and you can probably see I missed quite a bit.

I found 2 extra Cougar rear panel emblems in good shape, but the Mercury emblem for the drivers front panel is gone. I have the lower front valence with all the chrome bits and a couple chrome pieces for the rear bumper.

Time to start saving for the harness and motor parts to change..I'll pull the plugs and see If I can get the motor to turn freely. It was just rebuilt and ran great before pops tried to do some electrical work on her and fried the harness. He sprayed some lubricant into the pistons when he gave up on the car so i hope that helped. He did tell me to expect oil to come out when I turn the motor.

I checked out the oil and it's still brand new, as well as everything else in the motor.
