It truely is sad to see a car club that I knew in the PNW back in '98 /'99 go to shit with people like you and all your east coast cloanies. Now i see why some of the "original" crew have left the scene. Looks like a bunch of DEMONIC WHOREDs who run nothing but there fucking mouth in the DCI now........... - Euro2.0

data backup
« on: September 10, 2008, 08:52:46 AM »

just curious what others are using for data backups? ie: storage devices, hardware, software and whatnots.... NAS, RAID (which one), external hdds, servers???

Just posting this as I know most people don't think about it until it's too late and the nano-gremlins ate their data. Hopefully not after midnight!!!

About the only thing I backup are pictures and work data.  most of that goes onto a CDR, although I'm thinking of getting an external HD too.

yeah, small 2.5" western digital external drive 360gig hdd is $139 @ costco. The drive is the Scorpio model and it's a sata drive with a mini USB to sata adapter. Great for the small footprint and hdd size.

Important files backed up to (2) external sata and swapped out of fire safe weekly. I've also got foldershare working between my laptop and workstation to make sure all CAD files are redundant.
