98mm rims on a 100mm bolt pattern car?
« on: July 08, 2008, 09:42:55 AM »

so i finly got aroudn to bothing to think about how im going to install my revolution racing rims on my rabbit.

i used a tool at RS to check pattern and my rims are 98mm bolt pattern. my rabbi tis 100mm...........

first thaught is to redrill rotors/hubs to correct pattern. only issue is id liek to not have to make custom rotors each time i change my breaks........

sugest away.

i suggest selling the lips to me and then taking the rest of the rim to the scrap yard. prices are way up.

dunno where you can get them across the pond;

they're called springbolts over here and can overlap 1mm per bolt, so 4x98 is possible on a 4x100 car

not the best pic but u can kind of see how the lug bolt is 100% flat accross the top. odd......

im thinking

option A.

get tailor made adaptors (but i realy dont need the rim to poke out the side of the truck any more than it allready does)

optoin b.

widen teh pattern on teh rim,  and make rim hub centric, then hope for the best w/ the lill gap next to each lug.

option C. redrill rotors/hubs fro proper pattern and deal w/ the bs each time i do a break job

option D. find some way to install braks/hubs off a 98mm car (way over the top bs i dont need to evne think about)

.........

why not just redrill and tap the hubs and drums for the other pattern?

I wouldn't do it.. but I know some people have bought blank hubs and done that..

im not sure how they can be measured. i guess just inside diameter and outside diamter. i am nto sure how i can make sure the bolt holes are lined up.
