VR6 Power Steering Pumps

The ps pump in the Passat is starting to whine quite a bit, and I'm afraid it's on it's last leg.  I remember reading that the MKIV VR6 ps pump will work and is a better unit.  Am I remembering correctly?  If so, anyone have an extra laying around?  If not, anyone have an extra MKIII, B3/B4, or Coraddo ps pump?

i run a mk4 vr6 ps pump on my vr6 swap in my golf........ works fine and the low presure supply line is bolted to the pump vs. the mk3 style wich is pressed into the pumnp.
