Replacement Injectors?
« on: January 09, 2008, 12:28:06 PM »

So, my brother has a '91 Coupe Quattro that his mekkakneck told him may need injectors. I've heard that this is a common problem and the replacement doesn't look like it would be any more difficult than a VW. So, I agreed to do this for him rather than have hime pay labor he was qouted.

Why are these so expensive and are there any aftermarket replacements available??

A) Because they are a proprietary Hitachi injector specific to the 7a, and no longer manufactured.

B) http://www.034motorsport.com/product_info.php?products_id=329 <--- $305 for a set, 5hp gain at the wheels

They released those right as a couple of the injectors in my old 90 went tits up. Took about 30 minutes total to install them. They made the car a little peppier and got me a couple more gallons to the mile.

Thanks, Jaime... Dave initially suggested that I ask you directly anyway. These guys are right across the bay too.
