1.8t spark plugs issue
« on: January 07, 2008, 10:58:42 AM »

here is what i have.

2000 1.8t ATC 180hp quattro TT (this is what i started with)

now...........

handpieced together amu bottom end w/ aeb head, apr 225 stg-3+, 2001 amu ECU on ATC harnus. monster amount of head work and manifold work done, scat rods, blah blah....... its built tough or so i hope.

car keeps fowling the plgus that APR sugested be sued w/ this set up. i let teh car warm up till its all teh way warm, talking fans come on warm basicly. go to drive it and in abotu 1.75 blocks of driving ti will fowl all the plugs!.......

just to get the car home i keep tools and a set of stock vr6 plugs (just some crap ones i had around the shop) in the car so i can swap them on teh side of the road and dirive hom. these plugs work fine up to like 5+lbs of boost.

all i can think of is i need a diffrent heat range, but maybe not?

car dosnt throw any codes once its warmed up. btu when first started it sputters, spits, and thwos all kidns of miss fire codes and shit. once its ran for like 3-9mins it cuts that shit out and purrs just fine, seems to rev nice and eveything.

WTF should i do?

iv back checkd 99% of the car and how i biult it aginst my bently and its done as properly as the factory. iv even paid a local dealer to look over the car and find soemthign wrong, wich they didnt.

im stumped!

Something does not sound good.

What size maf are you running?
Size injectors?
You have a Wideband hooked up?

Could be bad software as well.  IE APR
